What’s Happening at Samadhi Yoga / The Yoga Factory?

Here at Samadhi Yoga / The Yoga Factory we have some exciting news which we’d like to share with you.   As many of you know Mick and Gabrielle, two long time Samadhi Yoga students and teachers, opened their own studio Yoga Factory in Camperdown a year ago and it’s been a great success.  Mick is also off to do Jivamukti teacher training this year. 

Mick, Gabrielle and Katie (Samadhi Yoga director) have decided to join forces and amalgamate our businesses.  Samadhi Yoga and Yoga Factory will soon become one entity owned by us as a collective.  The new studios will both be known as ‘Samadhi Yoga’.

In addition we have just signed a lease for a large new studio just a one minute walk from the Flourmill Studios.  Individually neither of us would have been able to undertake this lease or such a large project but together we can do it!  There will be space for a café, two studios, offices and treatment rooms as well as a merchandise area.  It really is a dream space and it’s right in the heart of Newtown.  The largest of the studio spaces fits 80 students!  Obviously we are very excited about the project and now working hard to get it open.  The building needs quite a bit of renovation, most of which Mick will do.

Once we are up and running there will be the opportunity for more classes, more guest teachers and more workshops – so keep your ideas coming we are keen to hear them as we shape the schedule for the rest of the year.  And you’ll be glad to hear we’ve signed a 5 year lease (with options to extend)… so we’re not going anywhere for a while once we get settled.

For the time being The Yoga Factory timetable will stay the same, as will the Samadhi Yoga timetable.  As soon as the new space is ready (we anticipate around 6 weeks) all current Samadhi classes, workshops, teacher training etc. etc. will move there.  For now we will be between Flourmill Studio 104 and Erskineville Town Hall. 

Please be assured that we will not be changing classes.  We will be streamlining what and how we charge for classes (we are planning on computerising these areas and making use of a swiper card system), again as and when we will let you know details about this.  Students will be able to use the same passes in both locations – we’ll let you know about the details soon.
