Samadhi Yoga, Newtown is also home to Earth Café.  We really hope you enjoy eating with us and hanging out in our beautiful space.

We are deliberately starting simple - with plans to expand the menu so please let us know if you have a favourite vegan recipe you’d like us to feature.  We hope we have something for everyone, many recipes are gluten free, soy free and raw.  All are vegan.  You don’t have to be a full time vegan to enjoy our food; even just one vegan meal a week could reduce your carbon footprint significantly not to mention reducing the suffering experienced by factory farmed animals.

If you are interested in why a vegan diet is better for your health, better for the planet and better for all the beings that we share the planet with please read Sharon Gannon’s book ‘Yoga and Vegetarianism’ (available in the café) or feel free to chat with our café staff and yoga teachers who are happy to answer any questions you may have.

At Earth we use local suppliers many of whom are our students and even teachers here at Samadhi.  It really is a ‘family’ kitchen. We also aim to use local, very fresh, seasonal and organic ingredients where at all possible.  Where we can, we support small businesses and suppliers rather than big industry.  You can find out more about this from the ‘Ethical Supermarket Guide’ available in our yoga shop.

We use biodegradable take away cups and containers, as well as washable napkins.  Our crockery is sourced from the carbon neutral company ‘Ecology’ and we don’t sell drinks in plastic containers.  Good quality water is free at Earth and doesn’t come in a bottle that will end up in landfill.

We serve a great chai and which is stovetop brewed rather than coming from a packet.  We also have some great healthy smoothies and specially blended health ‘tonic’ herb teas on offer as well as fresh juices made to order.

Please join us and support our aim to and change the world by eating cake!
